BOYS - Division 3

Verdugo Hills will take their 3rd consecutive City Championship decisively while Helen Bernstein and Canoga Park will fight for runner-up honors.

1. VERDUGO HILLS

The Dons have 5 runners returning from their ‘21 championship team including juniors EVAN ELLERSIEK and DUSTIN HARZMANN who led the Dons in ‘21 and will continue to lead them in ‘22. Seniors JONATHAN CASTRO, JESUS MURILLO, FRANK DOWNER and WILLIAM LO will be competing for the remaining 3 scoring positions. This is a talented and experienced team that should have no problem repeating as City Champions.

2. HELEN BERNSTEIN

Senior FERBIN ORELLANO and junior DUSTIN HARZMANN will lead the Dragons in what should be a milestone 2nd place finish at the City Championships. WILDER LEMUS, ETHAN GARCIA and YAEL DIAZ return from the ‘21 team as well but will need big improvements to seriously contend with Verdugo Hills. Based on summer time-trials newcomer EDGAR CASTRO (a junior) should be a nice addition. This is a school that’s competed well in a very competitive division 2 since 2017 and continues to reach for the top since moving to division 3 in 2020. This is one of the few division 3 teams that we see at a lot of the big SoCal invitationals and this fall they have 12 meets scheduled prior to post season. We are very high on this team!
